A land with a beer-brewing tradition

The Nord-Pas de Calais region has a long history of brewing beer, with almost 2,000 establishments at the beginning of the 20th century. Most towns had their brewery and taverns nearby. From the producer to the consumer! The geographical situation, the wealth of subterranean waters, and the presence of raw materials necessary for manufacturing beer (wheat, barley, hops) explain the importance of this activity for the traditional economy.
