It was in 2012 that last nuns left the Belval Abbey monastery for good and went to join the Igny-dans-la-Marne Abbey. An association then came up with a project to use the place in a significant way, that would foment bonds in the community. The idea is to keep the abbey open, continuing its activities. It's now possible to visit, and even stay at, this former monastery; you can take a guided tour, walk round the grounds, or check out the shop to try the cheese produced right here at the abbey. There are also concerts, conferences and exhibitions on a regular basis. An ideal place to stay for some peace and quiet.
