Fort de la Crèche

Built in 1879, the fort is located on the site of a former Napoleonic defense system, consisting of the now demolished Fort Terlincthun and a marine fortress opposite Crèche point, of which only the foundations remain. During the First World War, this fort served to defend the port of Boulogne, which had strategic importance in supplying the forces and evacuating the wounded. The fort also witnessed heavy fighting during the Second World War. It now belongs to the coastal conservation agency and is still in the process of being restored.
