Musée de Folklore Flamand Jeanne Devos

Home of a famous person (WORMHOUT)

Spoken languages : néerlandais

This museum, located in a former 18th-century rectory, tells the story of the life and work of Jeanne Devos, Flanders' first female professional photographer. There are many traditional Flemish objects on display, which formed part of the photographer's collection. Her stock of around 100,000 of photographs, taken between 1952 and 1979, has been preserved and can be seen at the iconographic centre of the Wormhout media library. There are numerous portraits and different kinds of ceremonies, as well as countless village shots and scenes of daily life, all bearing witness to the photographer's love for Flanders and its people.
