Spoken languages : anglais

The museum is in a building of typical 19th-century architecture with large windows that let in a lot of daylight, which is essential to lace-making. You'll be taken through all the stages of the lace-making process, from preparation to production on large, wide Leavers looms, of the kind that can only be found in Caudry. Finished products and haute-couture dresses are on display, exhibiting women's fashion from the 19th century to the present day. The lace made in Caudry is known to celebrities the world over, and the Caudry lacemakers' skills are very much in demand to make dresses for special occasions for the rich and famous.
