It's been more than 150 years since this Belle Epoque-style brasserie in Valenciennes first started serving traditional food. It's fair to say that the Escargot is at the very roots of gastronomy in Valenciennes. Hugues Teneur, head of the restaurant, fell in love with the old establishment. Under his direction, it has become a top-class restaurant, serving a happy blend of the great classics of French cuisine and the generous local traditions.
